If you want to do something more than eat to save the world then we have the product for you. Typically, to save energy while using your computer, you could use either of the Standby or Hibernate modes. They allow you to save the computers current state without leaving the computer to run and waste electricity. Great for most of us, right? But what if you’re a whore for attention, and driving a car with “hybrid” on the side in big letters isn’t enough? The short answer is: Buy an Eco Button. This little waste of space will put your computer to sleep when you slap down on it with an authoritative, “I’m doing my part to save Mother Earth.”

But wait, there’s more! From the article:

The USB-powered button comes with software that tells you how much energy and how many carbon units you’ve saved through its labor-saving practices.

You better use this thing often though, because as it is plastic, it is made using petroleum.  And don’t forget the human cost of [probably] being manufactured in China. The upside though is that China’s impeccable environmental record will almost certainly put you ahead.

I’m glad someone has come up with this. It’s like an eye shade only it plugs into your computer via USB to give you soothing eye-warmth. You are also easily able to control the temperature by using the on/off switch.

Just the other day I was complaining to my girlfriend about how my eyes were a bit chilly. She of course told me to put on a sweater because she was “soooo warm”.

From time to time we find ourselves just having too much cash for our own good.  We could give this money to those bastards down at the orphanage but we’d much rather spend it on useless USB gadgets such as this USB vacuum cleaner. It even comes with a thin little USB cord you have to wrap up.  Now I can be annoyed on a tiny scale!  Thank god for the Chinese children whose little fingers are able to assemble such useful products.

Sony has a record of trying to push their proprietary hardware on you (think memory card options in anything Sony). This is why I stopped buying Sony long ago. Now they want to kill USB on their products. Wireless USB that is. Sony is showing off a UWB-technology called TransferJet.

So what makes this Tech better?  Nothing.  It has less range and is about half the speed.

If there were any more recognized holidays in a year our lives would be nothing more than taking down last months holiday decorations and putting up this months.  Easter is nearly upon us and it brings a plethora (thanks Three Amigos!) of new annoying decorations with it.  Like take a look at these egg(?) lights.  We are pretty sure they are egg lights.  Either that or some new masochistic sex toy.

Wow… the fact that this exists speaks volumes about where our priorities, as a society, are. There is absolutely no point to this. You and your significant other (we hope that’s who you’d go in on this with) both get one of these things and hook them up via USB to your computer. When you get to missing that special someone you press a button on this thing, it sends out a message to that other unit and here’s the kicker… their unit moos. I know, great idea. Do yourself a favor and don’t watch the video. We hate ourselves for watching it not once, but twice, to confirm information. The information? This thing sucks.

Ever see those stupid clocks that tell the time, seemingly in mid-air?  Ya, you know, the one you were given as a gift but have no use for.  You hook this thing up to your computer and put in a phrase and then just turn it on and wave like a coked-up celeb at an awards show.  Taking advantage of something called persistence of vision allows this $0.49 piece of plastic and LEDs project your letters into mid-air.  The only possible use for this thing is if you live alone and need to signal for more toilet paper to passersby.  But that only works if you take your laptop into the crapper with you — which me do!  We still don’t want one…
